Steve Nash says that he's considering his options.

With the 2012 NBA free agency approaching, more and more NBA players are starting to come forward by saying that they’re keeping their “options open.” Of course the most known player to do so was Orlando Magic center, Dwight Howard. However the Magic’s front office and Howard’s agent were able to come to an agreement that would exempt Howard from the 2012 free agency race. However, now franchise player and Phoenix Suns point guard, Steve Nash announced that if Phoenix doesn’t make a move, that he’s going to leave too.

“I’m not coming back to the Suns if there isn’t improvement,” Nash told The Dan Patrick Show.

The Phoenix Suns are currently one game under .500 at 25-26, third in the Pacific Conference behind the first place Los Angeles Lakers (31-20) and the second place Los Angeles Clippers (29-21). As for their hopes of making the playoffs, they’re two games back of eighth place.

Though, at 38 years old, Nash isn’t looking to just make the playoffs, but to go deep in the playoffs, like Championship deep.

“I would listen [Talking about joining the Miami Heat],” Nash said. “He’s phenomenal. I love what they’re doing there. A lot of people don’t like them because they put all that talent there. But they’re professional, they play hard, they play together. Their coaching staff has done a great job, so I have a tremendous amount of respect for them. I would definitely listen.”

Steve Nash has been in the NBA for 15 years now and during those 15 years, he’s won two MVP’s, been to eight All-Star games, three first all team appearances, but he’s yet to do what any NBA player dreams of; win a championship. And at 38 years old, on a team that appears to be in a re-building stage, doesn’t look like the team for Nash.

Nash is averaging a double-double this season, (his seventh career season averaging a double-double) with 12.9 points, 11.2 assists, and 3.1 rebounds a game.

As for the Suns, their next game is at home against the 13-38, New Orleans Hornets where they will try and bounce back from a two game losing streak.
